In the early stages of my career with Coca-Cola Enterprise, I acquired a wealth of knowledge and expertise in developing single-location accounts for nationwide organizations. However, the Coca-Cola Enterprise division was sold in May 2006, leading to my compliance with a non-compete agreement. Seizing an opportune moment, I made a deliberate choice to pivot into the insurance business. Growing up around my father's trucking company instilled in me an affinity for the transportation industry. This made my transition into the transportation insurance market a logical progression.
As the founder of Cox Insurance Services, my journey involved successfully securing clients of varying sizes, from owner-operators to large fleets. Alongside my partner, we grew our business from an initial $300K in sales during the first year to an impressive $18.2M within a decade. This growth was fueled by the cultivation of robust relationships with clients whose sales ranged from $250K to well over $20M per year. Committed to enhancing my professional acumen, I completed the Motor Carrier Insurance Education Foundation Certification course, earning the designation of Transportation Risk Specialist. Additionally, I successfully undertook the MCIEF "TruckingU" courses, specializing in advanced underwriting.
After enjoying over a decade of prosperity, the decision was made to sell our agency. Following the seamless transition to the new owner, I assumed the role of a consultant, extending my expertise to companies in the transportation and truck insurance industries. The prospect of leading a new team at Motor Carrier Solution Inc. has ignited my enthusiasm, and I am eager to contribute my experience and leadership to this exciting venture.
